The mission of the New Moves Partnership is to provide current homeless families an opportunity for one year of stable housing with the goal that with this program’s support they become traditional rent paying, self-sustaining residents. The New Moves Partnership offers this hand up, not hand out to families who have become homeless due to no fault of their own. They assist families who are newly homeless as a result of job loss, death, health issues, and other non-controllable events that could lead to the loss of a home. The New Moves Partnership works with case managers at various agencies, charities, and churches so the families receive the support they need to support their families again, manage their funds, and grow in their careers. The tremendous success of the New Moves Partnership wouldn’t be possible without our amazing partners. Below is a partial list of our supporters over the years.

Southern Affordable Services, Inc.’s New Moves Partnership is proud to partner with Orange County on this special initiative!
In an effort to support affordable housing initiatives in the area, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs joined the ribbon cutting for Goldenrod Pointe Apartments, a 70-unit affordable housing complex located south of University Boulevard in Winter Park.
Webster’s definition of the word “home” includes a relaxed and comfortable setting, a congenial environment. Unfortunately for many families those words do not describe their home; or at least they didn’t. Let me introduce you to the Diaz family*.
"Concord Rents has just provided its one millionth dollar of free rent to Florida’s homeless population. Over the past four years ConcordRents has partnered with Winter Park-based Southern Affordable Services, Inc., and their New Moves Partnership to help homeless families find permanent housing. Southern Affordable Services, Inc. has partnered with countless charities, social service agencies and the local government to identify the families in need. As a result, over 1,000 people and nearly 400 families have found safe and affordable housing. “I highly encourage other apartment owners and operators to get involved and change the future one family at a time,” says ConcordRents owner."
It has been said that home is where the heart is, that statement couldn’t be truer for the Taylor Family.
It truly is the season of giving! A private donor has provided families of the Southern Affordable Service’s New Moves Partnership with a very generous gift. Each of these families received a holiday card from this donor, that they have never met, wishing them a Merry Christmas. Upon opening the card the families got a surprise they could have never anticipated…..each family received a Wal-Mart gift card ranging from $200-$400 (depending on the size of the family). Thanks to this private donor 102 children are guaranteed to have a gift to open this holiday season. It has been said that you have not lived until you have done something for someone who can never repay you, surely this donor knows how to live life to the fullest!
Southern Affordable Services, Inc. teams up with DKN Legal to assist a New Moves Partnership family with their Thanksgiving dinner and provided THREE central Florida families had a turkey dinner with all the fixings for their special day. These three single mothers would not have been able to provide for their children had it not been for the kindness of the people at DKN Legal. We appreciate their partnership and bigheartedness for our families. It is simple gestures such as this that will have a lasting impact on the lives of the New Moves Partnership families we serve and most importantly the children we house.
Filled with joy and generosity, this Secret Santa’s sole mission was to ensure that every child who moved in under the New Moves Partnership had something to excite them this holiday season. The New Moves Partnership allows families to start over again when life has taken a wrong turn. This year Southern Affordable Service’s Secret Santa was able to assist nearly 50 children with their holiday wishes by providing gift cards ranging from $200-$400 for each family.
1000 is a big number, whether you are referring to money or “likes” on a photo or miles driven, but it is a huge number when referring to housing previously homeless men, woman, and children.
The Ayala family received a free car from Universal Auto Body in South Orlando.
Through a partnership with Community Food and Outreach Center, Southern Affordable Services, Inc. was able to nominate Ms. Ayala’s family for this charity car give-a-way. Ms. Ayala is a New Moves Partnership family who recently moved into a Lake Mary apartment home. Transportation was holding her back from employment and getting her son to and from his necessary medical treatments. We are happy to say she no longer has those obstacles.
Southern Affordable Services, Inc. is proud to have partnered with these two great businesses to help this family!
As of September 2013, The New Moves partnership has successfully helped 200 families have a place to call home again.
In just 18 short months, Southern Affordable Services, Inc., along with Concord Management Ltd., have given over $600,000 in contributed rental assistance to homeless families throughout Florida. We are thrilled to have been able to assist nearly 150 families in in their quest to find a stable environment to raise their children. Partnering with many charities, churches and social services organizations throughout Florida, SAS is approaching the challenge of homelessness from a holistic approach. Providing an apartment will not solve all of the challenges these families are facing, so we are working to assist with education, employment, furniture, and case management to help them become self-sufficient once again. “I am so thankful to be out of the motel and for this opportunity to provide my family a safe place to live” says Amy L., one of the families currently in the New Moves Partnership.
Thanks to an anonymous donor Southern Affordable Services, Inc. is able to provide move in kits to our families of the New Moves Partnership. Some of the items included in the kit are: Pots & Pans, Flatware, Dishes, Cutting board, Toaster, Bath Towels, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Dish soap, Trash bags, Broom, Dust pan, & much much more.
