Chip Tatum, Executive Vice President of the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando( AAGO), wrote this email to the Leaders of AAGO, to share with them the moving story of a family Lori Trainer, of Southern Affordable Services was able to help. Thanks go out to many members of AAGO as well, because a lot of donations were given to help this family get back on their feet after a tragedy. Please read below for details on this moving story.
Good Morning AAGO Leaders –
Many of you will recall the tragic story of the mother of 6 who was gunned down in NE Florida at a convenience store. Her children were forced to move in with their grandparents who did not have the room for them or the resources to care for them. Peggy Queen, my counterpart at FCAA (First Coast Apartment Association) , reached out to me about it and we both immediately thought of Lori.
Lori did what Lori does (aka magic) and within days they had a new apartment home, furnishings, and so many other things. I thought you all might be interested in reading the Justice Coalition’s article about the story and outcome. http://justicecoalition.org/newspaper/April2013/April_VA_pg-2.pdf
So many of our members jumped into action to support this effort including our own Donna Reiter, Pete and Dave with CORT, and so many others. It’s truly a team effort and a great showing for AAGO and the apartment industry!
Sincerely,
CT
